Van Gogh Art!
5th Class learned a new poem this month called 'Van Gogh's Yellow Chair' by Mark Roper. This poem was a stimulus to our art lesson last week. The children recreated their own yellow chair painting. This chair had to be in a place of happiness and rest. The paintings were created using chalk pastels. This week we continued our Van Gogh theme by recreated his famous painting 'Wheatfields' using paint.

Earlier this month Ms.Healy dropped in with one of the 'chicks' from last year. Although as you can see it was no longer a small chick but a much bigger hen. She brought it in in a container and the class got to see how quickly their chicks had grown up. We were all in shock! It was a great surprise!
