Fifth Class received individual certificates from Sealife and Blackrock Education Centre for participating in the Aquarium Project last term. It was a really enjoyable experience as we looked after four sea creatures in our classroom for a month. We fed them, cleaned their tank and learned all about them. We received certificates as a reward this week.

Fifth Class the next Olympic boxers??
Fifth Class have started boxing lessons with Olympic Boxing Trainer Pete Taylor. Pete Taylor famously trained his daughter Katie to Olympic gold this summer. The class were put through their paces this week. Roll on Rio 2016!
Roman Mosaic Artwork!
Fifth Class are studying Italy this month. In Art they looked at mosaic patterns which were common in Roman times. They were given a template to fill in using coloured scraps of paper.
Fifth Class planted peas!
Fifth class planted peas in pots on Friday. The pots are sitting on the window sill in the classroom for light and they are being watered regularly by the class.

Fifth Class know all about Italy!
Fifth class have been studying Italy this month. They learned all about the geography and history of the country. They have been working hard on fact files and brochures this week.
Maths for Fun!
The children in fourth and fifth class took part in Maths for Fun for the last six weeks. They played Maths games and had lots of fun. It could only be possible with the help of some parents who helped out every Thursday afternoon. The girls all received certs on the final day.

6th Class are learning all about South America
For the month of April, 6th class are learning about South America...
We are looking at the countries, capital cities, lakes, rivers, mountains and famous attractions.

6th class have been sowing seeds in the School Garden
6th Class got their hands dirty in the garden in April!
