Kenyan Ambassador's Visit
The Kenyan Ambassador came and visited 4th, 5th and 6th class today. She talked to us all about Kenya and her work as an ambassador. She gave us gifts of bags, necklaces and books. We made a guard of honour and she planted a tree in front of the school. The school was decorated in Kenyan colours and beautiful artwork was displayed.
Kenyan Ambassador comes to visit
We had a very special visit today from the Kenyan Ambassador
Catherine Muigai Mwangi. She came to talk to 4th, 5th and 6th
classes. This was all part of the annual Bray Lions Club, Windows
on the World Project.
She came to talk to us about her
country Kenya and tell us about
her job as ambassador. The ambassador arrived
at 11.20am and
the whole school cheered and waved the Kenyan
flags we had
made. Next, she planted a tree in the front garden of the school.
We brought her to our classroom, where she admired all the art
work we had
completed on Kenya. She was very impressed. She
talked to us for a while before
answering all of our questions. She
even brought us lovely gifts such as;
necklaces, handbags, books,
ornaments, tea and coffee. It was a wonderful day.

Art History October 2012
6th Class studied all about Art History in October 2012.
We paired up with a friend and studied one famous artist for the month. We researched our projects on the internet and by using some library books. We completed fact files and information pages on the artists. We even tried our hand at painting some of their famous pieces....They looked great in our Art Exhibition.
We then presented the projects in front of our teacher and class....We really enjoyed the project and we even dressed up as the artists for our Halloween party :)

Step it Up - Keeping Healthy During Operation Transformation
We are taking part in Operation Transformation in our school. Everyone is trying
to be more healthy, to eat better and to do more exercise. Our parents and staff
have even set up their own Operation Transformation Groups.
To help everyone in the school be fitter and more active the girls from 6th class went to every other class in the school to teach them the Step It Up dance. Here is a video of some of the girls teaching the dance to Junior Infants. Everybody danced and jumped and clapped. It was a great idea to keep everyone warm on a cold day.
The girls were very enthusiastic and the kids had a really great time.
You can listening to the Step It Up song and watch the video on You Tube by clicking on this link:
